Kane's Getting Closer to One!

Kane is getting closer to his big day-what is he up to these days? Well, he says Mama, Dada, Hi, and we think he even says "Hi Buddha." It's a long story.

He's also trying to stand on his own now and then. He's not walking yet, but any day now. He's getting braver by the minute.

Kane has had a lot of new yummy foods lately-he LOVES yogurt, but HATES oatmeal. He's eating all sorts of fruits and veggies-all organic. I'm a bit obsessed that everything that goes into his body is as pure and pestacide-free as possible. He also loves eggs and has had a little bit of chicken. Luckily, our little guy just sprouted two teeth-bottom front-to chew all these new foods. We've also got the four, top-front teeth all coming in at the same time-so much fun! Teething makes the evening hours just a little trying, but Kane is still happy 99% of the time.

We have bonded so much with our little guy over the past year. It has gone by so fast and has definitely been the hardest-and the best-year of our life.

Fun in the Sun

We had lots of fun today with Grandma and Grandpa Meyer, Aunt Jessica, Uncle Michael and Aunt Amanda. Kane enjoyed playing in his new whale pool for the first time. As Aunt Amanda says, Kane is a "fish" in the water. He LOVES it. We can't wait to start Shrimp class at the Rec Center Pool in a couple of weeks.
So, school is out for summer! That means Mom will have lots more time to snap pictures and post on the blog. I am sooo excited. Happy June!

Fun with Grandpa and Linda

Here are a few fun pics from Linda's house. Linda and Bryan's Dad Bill watch Kane while we play softball on Sunday nights. Last Sunday they got Kane this snappy wagon and a few Leap Frog toys. Kane had so much fun!

Our Trip to Chicago-Memorial Day Weekend

We had a fun and relaxing trip to Chicago over Memorial Day weekend-seeing old friends and meeting new ones too! (we especially like the chef from Australia who made us the most amazing food on Sunday!) We took an eventful trip to Aikea-btw, we need one of these in St. Louis. We also went to the park and Kane got to do his favorite activity-swinging.

Kane had lots of fun playing with his friend Maddie and watching all the other kids run around at the barbecue on Sunday. Joyce took some amazing shots with her brand new camera-I think a hobby/career in photography is in her future! (she even tried to channel her inner-Anne Geddes by putting Maddie in a giant flower pot but Maddie did not like it very much) Despite the unsuccessful flower pot photo shoot, the photos she took are amazing! We love the shot on the swing!
Thanks for a great weekend, Joyce! Can't wait to come up and visit again soon.

Other fun pictures from the past month...

I look just like Daddy when I'm tired and cranky!

LET ME OUT!!

Posing for the camera-I know I'm cute.

Bath Time

These are the photos I'll be showing to Kane's girlfriend when he's 16 just to embarass him.

Kane at 9 months-some classic facial expressions

Kane is such a cutie! He is moving around-cruising-as they call it, and crawling like a pro. Any day now we expect him to take off running.

Kane loves saying "Da Da" over and over and only says "Ma Ma" when he is mad or crying. Of course. I'm sure that's how it will be for the rest of his life! :)

At his 9 month check up Kane was in the 75th percentile for height, but only the 25th for weight-he is a skinny-mini (but so is his dad so that runs in the family).

Enjoy the latest pictures-he is getting soooo big and has some great new expressions!
