Baby's first photo shoot

When Kane was 3 weeks old we had our wedding photographer come over and do a little photo shoot. Kane was awake the whole time, amazingly-he was still sleeping all the time at that age. The naked pictures were the best-within five minutes he managed to puke and pee all over his daddy. Mommy, on the other hand, remained spit up and pee free. Yes, she knows to pawn the naked baby off on daddy. :) We used one of the pictures she took for our birth announcement. To see all the pictures you can go to http://www.collages.net/. Our little ham

Kane has taken quite a liking to the camera! He really knows how to ham it up. These pictures are from today-he's eight weeks old now. He even started talking to himself today while doing his favorite thing-staring at himself in the mirror on his swing!

Kane had so much fun hanging out with his Grandmas when they came to stay and help out! Mommy did not want them to leave!

Welcome Baby Kane!

Kane's birth was a challenge, an adventure, and an event! He was born on July 31st, Bryan's Grandmother Audrey's birthday, at 2:29 am. This was exactly 24 hours after I woke up and realized I was in labor.

Kane did not want to come out, so after two hours of pushing he was born by emergency C-section. After being awake and in labor for 24 straight hours, I was too tired to be nervous or upset about it.

We had a nice four day stay at St. Luke's hospital where some very wonderful nurses took care of us. I was actually sad to leave! It was nice to have people help you take care of yourself and your baby 24-7. It was pretty hard to get around because of my incision, but recovery was not as bad or painful as I would have imagined.

Luckily we had a lot of help once we left the hospital. My best friend Joyce and her daughter Maddie stayed with us and my mom and mother-in-law came to stay and help out. Thanks to all of you!

Day at the balloon race

Last Saturday was one of Kane's first big outings-first to the zoo and then the Baloon Race. The Race was kind of lame this year since there was a threat of storms-they only went from one side of the park to the other, but it was still fun!

Kane is getting really big! He weighs over 11 pounds now. He can hold his head up pretty well-but still needs a little help in this department. He's also become very smiley (as you can see from the picture)! I love those smiles.

Well, two more weeks with the little guy and I'm back to work. I'm so glad that we have great day care-our sister-in-law Amanda! What a relief.
